IVCI Goes to Carnegie Hall
Dear Friends of The Indianapolis,
We are pleased to invite you to join us for our quadrennial tradition of going to New York City to celebrate the Carnegie Hall debut of our new Gold Medalist. Richard Lin captured the Gold Medal of the 10th Quadrennial Competition and as part of his prize, will perform at Carnegie Hall on June 5, 2020. Join other IVCI family members for this historic occasion while enjoying all that “The Big Apple” has to offer.
The trip will begin with Richard Lin and pianist Thomas Hoppe performing a recital in Carnegie’s famed Stern Auditorium. We have reserved the best seats in the house for you whether you prefer box seats or orchestra level. A private reception with the artists and IVCI Artistic Director Jaime Laredo will follow the concert in the Estrela Penthouse of the Parker New York, offering a gorgeous night view of the city.
On Saturday June 6, we will travel by private bus to Brooklyn to see the workshop of world-renowned luthier Sam Zygmuntowicz, who will share his insight into the fascinating world of violin making. After lunch, we will meet Mayuko Fujino, the amazing paper cut artist who we commissioned to create the official artwork for the 10th Quadrennial. We have purposely kept the evening free for you to enjoy the myriad of cultural events that occur in New York on a daily basis from the opera or symphony to Broadway shows, not to mention the remarkable culinary scene!
Our official hotel is the luxury Parker New York (formerly Le Parker Meridien), conveniently located only a few steps away from Carnegie Hall, two blocks from Central Park and one block from 5th Avenue.
We hope you can be with us for this memorable weekend! The deadline for returning the reservation form is April 27.
See you in New York!
