Carnegie Hall

Dear Friends of The Indianapolis,

We are pleased to invite you to join us for our quadrennial tradition of going to New York City to celebrate the Carnegie Hall debut of our new Gold Medalist.

Praised by The Baltimore Sun for her “impeccable technique…deeply expressive phrasing…and poetic weight,” Sirena Huang is the 2022 Gold Medalist of the 11th Quadrennial International Violin Competition of Indianapolis. As part of her prize, Sirena will have her Carnegie Hall Recital Debut on April 26, 2025. Join other IVCI family members for this historic occasion while enjoying all that “The Big Apple” has to offer.

The trip will feature Sirena Huang and pianist Chih-Yi Chen performing in Zankel Hall, one of the hottest places in New York City to experience chamber music and recitals. We have reserved the best seats in the house for you in the 599-seat venue, which opened in 2003. Celebrate with the artists and IVCI Artistic Director Jaime Laredo at a private post-concert reception at our official hotel, the luxurious Thompson Central Park. The hotel is conveniently located only a few steps away from Carnegie Hall, two blocks from Central Park and one block from 5th Avenue.

On Sunday, April 27, we will travel by private coach to Brooklyn to tour the workshop of world-renowned luthier Sam Zygmuntowicz, who will share his insight into the fascinating world of violin making. The one-of-a-kind experience will be followed by a French lunch before returning to the city.

The deadline for reserving the Carnegie Hotel Package is March 21. The deadline for reserving the Carnegie Weekend or Concert Packages is April 11.  We hope you can be with us for this memorable weekend! If you have any questions, call the IVCI office at 317-637-4574.
