2026 Competition Application – International Violin Competition of Indianapolis

APPLICATION FORM

Please read the 2026 Repertory list and the Rules and Procedures.

Applications should be accompanied by the following:

Proof of age (e.g. birth certificate, passport, or driver's license) indicating that the applicant was born after October 4, 1996 and before September 17, 2010.
Three letters of recommendation by musical authorities familiar with the applicant's achievement, including one from a recent teacher of the applicant or, in the event that the applicant is still a student, from the current teacher. This letter must be written to specifically recommend the applicant to the 2026 International Violin Competition of Indianapolis.

*Please note that proof of age and all letters of recommendation may be uploaded by the applicant to the applicant's Dropbox file which will be provided upon application submission. Letters of recommendation may also be sent under separate cover to ivci@violin.org directly from the person writing the recommendation. All documents must be received by February 28, 2026 in order for the application to be considered complete.

DECLARATION AND RELEASE FORM

I declare that the information given in the foregoing application form is complete and truthful. If accepted as a participant in the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, I shall abide by all rules and regulations of the Competition. I further declare that if I gain an award in the Competition I shall honor all commitments arising from the award.

I hereby grant permission for part or all of any of my performances in the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis to be electronically recorded, filmed or videotaped for distribution live, tape-delayed or by future transmission in all media. I will make no claim whatsoever for any funds which may accrue to the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, its assignees or licensees, resulting from the use of such recorded, filmed, or videotaped material.

The International Violin Competition of Indianapolis may not be held liable for any personal injury or illness or damage to property that may occur during the Competition. Each participant is therefore urged to secure health insurance in case of illness or accident, as well as property insurance for his or her violin and bow. For non-U.S. citizens, please understand that there is no national health insurance; therefore, any health costs that are incurred will be a personal expense of the participant unless other arrangements are made. By the submission of this application, the applicant agrees to release the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis and all attendant persons from liability.
