Application Rules

The International Violin Competition of Indianapolis and Jury President Jaime Laredo are pleased to announce the 11th Quadrennial Competition to be held September 9-25, 2022. We invite applications from violinists of all nationalities who will be at least 16 years of age and younger than 30 years of age at the time of the Competition, and who are prepared for a concert career.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

  1. Application form and all supplemental materials (including performance recordings) must be submitted online via violin.org/application between January 1 and 11:59 p.m. on March 25, 2022 (please note new deadline). Applicants will be required to submit an initial application form first and upon receipt, the Competition will send a link to upload materials via Dropbox. You do not have to have a Dropbox account to use the upload link. Applicants are advised to submit the application portion well in advance of the deadline in order to allow sufficient time to receive the link to upload recordings. Do not wait until March 25 to submit application as you may run out of time to upload materials by the deadline of 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time.

Applicants will be informed by email no later than May 1, 2022 whether or not they have been accepted as participants in the Competition. Up to 40 applicants will be accepted.

This letter must be written to specifically recommend the applicant to the 2022 International Violin Competition of Indianapolis. All letters may be sent under separate cover to ivci@violin.org directly from the person writing the recommendation, or they may be uploaded by the applicant to their Dropbox once their individual link is received.
